This post will be short. I wanted to share with you my photography recap with the best photos from 2024. Along with a short story to each photo so that we have a complete view of the whole situation.

I'll start this photography recap with the photo that is closest to me because I still remember the commitment to take it.

Pastel silhouette

I'll start with the photo that is closest to me because I still remember the commitment to take it. I went to the newly opened pedestrian bridge. It was between 5:00 and 6:00 in the morning. Nevertheless, I wasn't alone there.

Not far from this bridge is the old town, and in this photo you see just one of the streets. The moment I captured was the silhouette of an elderly woman who was probably walking to work. In the background, the sky painted with pastel colors.

You can watch my POV video here.

My photography recap starts with this photo of an old lady silhouette.

Moonlight sunset

My photography recap couldn't miss this photo.

It was the middle of August. Late summer hours. We went for a long photo walk with the team. I was testing the Sigma 500mm F5.6 DG DN that day. By the way, it is a really great lens. The composition of the place didn't let you pass by uninterested. Not to mention the beautiful colors in the sky that day.

Complementing this truly perfect moment was the moon, which posed decently for most of this evening.

Palace of culture and science with the moon.

Snow phone

It was a very spontaneous trip to the city. My wife and I decided that we needed to take advantage of this snowstorm. We took pictures for about 2 hours during a really solid blizzard. The moment I captured in the photo is the end of the walk. We were about to head back to the car when I noticed this girl staring at her phone.

I decided to add this photo to my photography recap because I like the light and composition.

Mobile photographer

I visited my friendly photographers in their city - Lodz. After a day-long photo walk, we went to a place described as a stable of unicorns. This is the name of a tram stop through which a lot of trams pass. A perfect place for photography. As you can see, it is not only with cameras that you can take pictures there.

For this photo, I was able to prepare easily. This guy has taken a photo in a similar position at least a few times. It was enough for me to wait for the right moment. I took this photo as soon as I saw that his silhouette was slightly backlit from behind.

Automotive uniqueness

The Ultrace event is certainly a reputation in itself. But sometimes you'll find such an automotive gem that it's impossible to pass by without looking. After a short break, I showed up at Ultrace again in 2024. Not only did I get to see such a car, but the weather conditions were truly exceptional.

This is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (W198). An engineering rarity available at your fingertips, right at Ultrace. Why do I love this photo? Simple. The angle, the composition and how it looks after editing.

Photography recap

To choose 10 photos out of several thousand is a very hard task. To choose 5 was an even harder task. And to choose the one and only one is practically impossible.

Every year there is the same problem. A lot of photos go away into oblivion but there are some that stay with us forever. Sometimes I go back with my memory to previous years and wonder if I made enough progress. Are this year's photos better than last year's. I don't know if this is a good way to reflect on my career as a photographer but it's certainly one of many available.

I do know one thing. Each new year is another year of experience. Another year means new possibilities and opportunities. As in 2024 so in 2025 I will try not to waste them.

You can check my photography recap on Instagram where I share more than 5 photos.

All the best!
