I haven't shot a POV video with a wide angle in a long time. I decided that this time I'll take my favorite wide prime which is the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM.
The Sony 24mm 1.4 GM is so great and it was definitely a good decision because the frames I took were really interesting. Editing was very enjoyable as there were water reflections everywhere.
The weather surprised me a bit because I didn't know it was going to rain so hard. In places, the rain was falling horizontally, which was quite uncomfortable. My waterproof jacket did what it was supposed to do, but the conditions were pretty tough. I managed to take a few photos of people literally fighting the rain 🙂
My process also assumes that for an intense and wet photo shoot like this, I don't use that lens for at least another 24 hours. So all you need to do is think a little and in fact, any gear is suitable for all conditions but of course, with caution.
What's more, I often get questions about the gear and whether I'm not worried about it if it rains or snows heavily. As you will see in this POV video, the 24mm 1.4 GM from Sony is quite old if we look at the official release date. Still, I've never had any problems with it. The only thing I pay attention to is the drying process. I try to keep the lens completely dry after the photo shoot.
If you are thinking about buying a Sony 24mm 1.4 GM lens, I highly recommend it. The lens is compact and very light. Sharp from 1.4 and super fast, which makes work much easier. This lens also works perfectly with my current Sony A7IV. So if you already have this camera body, don't wait any longer!
More POV videos with wide lenses coming soon.
Enjoy the video!
