The Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG DN ART is certainly an extraordinary lens. Sigma has been exceeding all standards over the past years. Fingers crossed that it continues this trend in the design and production of its lenses.

Sigma shows that the theoretically impossible becomes possible. Obviously, there has never been a lens with a focal length of 14mm and a maximum aperture of F1.4. Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG DN ART is, above all, an ideal lens for night photography. The designers primarily crafted it with astrophotographers in mind.

No surprises here.

Thanks to the vast field of view and the unprecedented F1.4 brightness, combined with excellent sharpness, almost guarantee us perfect photos.

I had the opportunity to test this wonderful lens. Of course, I made a series of night portraits using only the lights available in the city. What's more, I also went on a traditional photo walk, where I looked for tight buildings on the streets of Warsaw.

Thanks to Sigma Pro Centrum for delivering this lens for testing.

The Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG DN ART is not a lens for everyone.

The lens is large and heavy. However, you can find a lighter version with similar parameters - Sigma 14mm F1.8 DG HSM ART. The difference is about $400 and the picture quality we will get is practically the same.

Anyway, with the F1.4 version, you will get a lot of easy-to-use control elements and an efficient HLA motor ensuring fast and quiet auto-focusing.

The only thing I could complain about is the strong vignetting and the image is not as sharp as other recently released Sigma wide-angle lenses but only on F1.4.

I'm attaching a few sample photos and below are two links to the videos I recorded.

Finally, I encourage you to watch the photo walk video. It shows exactly how the Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG DN ART lens works at night.
