The Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens is a must-have for any portrait photographer. It's a medium telephoto lens with a fast aperture of f/1.4, which gives you incredible subject isolation and beautiful bokeh. That's why, it also works perfectly on urban photo walks.
One of the best things about the Sigma 105mm f/1.4 is its versatility. It's perfect for shooting portraits of all kinds, from headshots to full-body shots. It's also great for shooting weddings, events, and even landscapes. In this video, I use it for a casual photo walk around Warsaw. Two weeks before, it was perfect for an automotive event. There are many examples. Generally, you can use it for anything.
Here are just a few more things that make the Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens so great:
- Sharpness: The lens is incredibly sharp, even at wide-open apertures. This makes it perfect for capturing stunning shots at night.
- Bokeh: The lens produces beautiful, creamy bokeh. This helps isolate your subject from the background and create a dope image.
- Build quality: The lens is well-built and feels solid in the hand.
The only downside that is, of course, fully justified is the weight of this lens. The Sigma 105mm weighs less than 2 kg, 1702 g to be precise. This means that during an hour-long trip to the city, you will feel that you are holding something heavy 🙂
Watch this short video of me taking photos in Warsaw at 5 AM during a really nice and gentle sunrise. Let me know what you think about the video and photos in a comment on YouTube.
Enjoy!
