Sigma 105mm f/1.4 is one of the most interesting lenses on the market. Especially when it comes to compression and object isolation. Is it only suitable for the studio or is it worth going out on the street?
This isn't the first time I've been out on the street with my Sigma. However, this was the first time my 105mm f/1.4 took photos in the snow.
The hype is real!
Everyone admires how the Sigma 105mm takes beautiful portrait photos. But no one ever talks about what kind of photos this lens takes on the street! Personally, I have always been and still am in love. And these photos in the snow are a completely different level of isolation and compression.
The snowflakes look like 3D renders.
Of course, I have footage of this photo walk so you can experience it with me. The snowstorm wasn't light and my Sigma 105mm f/1.4 survived easily. No problems during the walk or later.
Besides the video, check out this photo! I'm so proud! This moment and timing were perfect. As you will see in the video, this lady stood there for a while. But who knows what would have happened 10 minutes before or after my arrival? Probably the only thing I would see is emptiness.
The Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM was released in June 2018. Despite the passage of time, it still surprises me in a very positive way. I feel like the older it is, the better it is. There are definitely many more photo walks ahead of us.
Enjoy the video!
